The Maestro Cares Foundation builds schools for girls in Mexico and Latin America to ensure their education opportunities. Their goals are much aligned with those of The Giving Back Foundation and so we were delighted to support them in a small way on February 16th.
In spite of bitter snow the previous day and torrential rain on the day of the event, Marc Anthony's Maestro Cares Gala continued on without a hitch on February 16th 2016 at 55 Wall Street at Cipriani downtown. A packed audience listened to Marc Anthony and Henry Cárdenas, both co-founders and truly passionate about their fantastic cause that literally saves lives. The audience raised over $2m for their charity that evening.
President Bill Clinton, Whoopee Goldberg, Luis Ortiz, AJ Calloway, The Puerto Rican ambassador Paolo Zampolli, Jean Francois Sberro, the MD of watch maker Hublot, Robert Unanue, CEO of Goya Foods, Marcelo Claure, the CEO of Sprint, June Hayes from Valentino, Barb Robinson, Sheryl Clark, David Fritz and host of glittering personalities all supported the soirée.
The honorees included FJ Pollack who spoke about the need to get children into a safe environment right away as our future truly depends on the next generation of emotionally healthy young people. President Bill Clinton said that Latin America was crucial to the success of North America and he applauded Marc's efforts. The Giving Back Foundation and Meera Gandhi received this award last year.
An amazing spectacular night to remember!
